So guess what it is Wednesday, and if you have been a regular visitor to my blog then you know Wednesday is crazy around here. Well I start thinking what to cook for dinner. I know it has to be quick and easy. Then it comes to me, pasta. Cooking pasta is quick. Here is a food that can literally takes minutes to whip up, but at the same time you can look like a true chef to your family and friends. Now I’ll let you in on a little secret, I am not a huge pasta fan. I think it is because in the late 80’ early 90’s it was so popular that I out did myself. But I am slowly coming around again. I think part of the reason is my boys really enjoy spaghetti.
But today I was thinking of cooking a different pasta then spaghetti. I thought lets go for a tortellini. The thing about a stuffed pasta is, it can be a bit more filling because usually it is stuffed with a protein. Which will stay with you a bit longer than just regular spaghetti.
Now I am really going to let you in on a secret of mine. I have one of the best and easy ways to prepare and serve a tortellini. This little secret has made so many people say, “Wow how did you do this”. It is almost embarrassing. You literally buy everything from the grocers and all you do is heat up the sauces and cook the pasta. So here we go, one of the fastest ways to cook pasta.
I Can’t Believe I made This Pasta Dish
1 Package of Cheese Tortellini’s
1 Package of 3 or 4 Cheese sauce
1/2 Package of Pesto
1 Package of Marinara sauce
Red wine
Parmesan Cheese
All the above found in the fresh pasta section of the grocery store.
Cook Tortellini according to directions.
Heat together Marinara sauce, Cheese sauce and pesto add some red wine. Simmer for a few minutes.
Once tortellini is cooked drain, place in a serving dish. Pour sauce over pasta, gently toss and top with Parmesan cheese.
Serve with some crusty bread, a crisp green salad and a glass of red wine. Your family or guest won’t know what hit them.
TIP OF THE DAY
If you don’t use all your pesto sauce, freeze the rest. This way you have some for next time.
