Christmas Cooking

Ok I am going to stick with the holiday theme. It only seems right. Because after all my 7 year old ask me at least 10 times a day if Santa will be here soon. I have to bribe him by saying he has to go to sleep so Santa can get toys made for everyone. I wonder how long that line will last. But the holiday season is here, Christmas is only a few weeks away and I am excited. I love Christmas. I don’t know if I like it so much because maybe I am a kid at heart. Or it could be that people love to cook at this time of year.
You know I love to make food look festive at this time a year as well. Like the other day when I wrote about the sausage ring. Well today I am going to talk about dips. I find so many people go out and buy dips or they buy those packages that you add mayonnaise and sour cream to. It is so easy to whip up a dip and I can bet you 9 out of 10 times you have the stuff on hand.
Today I am going to give you a recipe for a curry dip. You all know how I love curry. Well this dip is so good and so easy to make. Since it definitely has a yellow tinge to it you can easily make it look very festive. Just place it in a middle of a vegetable platter that has lots of green and red vegetables and voila you have Christmas written all over it.
Curry Vegetable Dip
1-cup mayonnaise
½ heaping tsp curry (I use paste) you can use powder
4 green onions TOPS ONLY sliced very thin
¼ tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste.
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Whisk until smooth.
Note: You can use low fat mayonnaise
There you go. How easy is that.
TIP OF THE DAY
To get you green onion tops really fine cut them with scissors.
