Christmas Vegetable Tree

Published by Carolin on Tagged Appetizer, dips, vegetable

By now if you put up a Christmas tree it should be up. This is of course according to me. Mine has been up since the last week of November. I am going to blame this solely on my 7-year-old son. Colton would not stop asking until the tree went up. Sounds good, doesn’t it. Anyhow since I am talking about Christmas trees an old recipe came to mind. Maybe I should not call it a recipe as much as instructions. The veggie Christmas tree. Yes it is true it is a tree Christmas tree made out of vegetables. Mind you it is only 7 inches tall but it is a Christmas tree.

You have to try this, especially if you need to take an appetizer to a house party. You will totally impress everyone.

Vegetable Christmas Tree

1 Styrofoam cone approx. 6” – 7” tall
Broccoli
Cherry tomatoes
Cauliflower
Mushrooms
Carrots chopped into 1-inch rounds
Zucchini cut into 1-inch rounds
Tooth picks

Go up and down the cone and attach the vegetables. I have only given you some suggestions. Use whatever you think will work. You will absolutely love this for the Christmas season. Serve it with a dip like the curry dip I suggested the other day or try this easy dip recipe.

1-cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp Tahini
1 Clove garlic crushed
Lemon juice
Salt and pepper.

Do this to taste. Start off with 2 Tbsp Tahini, taste and add more if you like Tahini can be over powering.

COOKING TIP OF THE DAY
The better the Tahini (i.e. Lebanese Tahini) the better the dip.
